Philosophy Question

Description:

Please go to Philosophy of science – News, Research and Analysis – The Conversation – page 1 [webpage] and find a topic (https://theconversation.com/intellectual-humility-is-a-key-ingredient-for-scientific-progress-211410) that you find intriguing or just interesting. The choice is all yours, but you are cautioned against just taking the first one you see. Take your time, look at several. They are all pretty short and should be thought provoking. Once you settle on one, do the following in less than 350 words (not counting references):

  • In one brief paragraph summarize the points the author made in the article.
  • Based on what you have learned so far about the philosophy of science, why is this topic important to the discipline?
  • Lastly, give your opinion on this article [i.e., Is the author right, wrong, something in between? Does the answer really matter to real people in real life? How might this topic impact you?] This section is the most important part of the paper and should be the longest. Be sure to support your assertions with logic and/or documented support.

Submission Instructions:

  • You do NOT need an introduction, just jump in, and keep in mind being concise and precise matter. The reader should not need to read your mind to understand your paper, but adding superfluous material is not helpful.
  • ALL PAPERS should be double-spaced with one-inch margins on all four sides. Using a 12-point font, 350 words will cover 1.5 pages.
  • Please be sure to consult the rubric before submitting this assignment. Have you addressed all the necessary points?

Be sure to review the following prior to submitting your assignment:
