- 1- Describe the relationship between electricity, magnetism, and light.
- 2- To which basic type of mechanical wave is light more similar? Why?
- 3- The speed of light in empty space has been measured to be approximately 299,792.5 km/s.
- a) Use this value and the information given in Table 7.1 (in the slides) to find thespeed of light through a big diamond.
- b) Can light travel slower through any other substance in Table 7.1? Explain.
- c) Compare (numerically) the speed of light through a big diamond with that of aplane traveling at Mach3.
