Overview
A current I circulates through a straight solenoid of length “a” formed by N circular turns of area S. Draw a clear diagram of the situation and calculate:
a) the magnetic flux that crosses one turn.
b) the magnetic flux that crosses the set of turns.
c) the inductance of the solenoid.
Then, on this same solenoid, a second solenoid of length "a" and N' circular turns of area S'>S is wound coaxially. Determine in this situation the mutual inductance M of the two coils.
