INSTRUCTIONS
- Use the Problem Solving Guide as a general guide to your solution.
- Upload a single PDF that has pictures solutions.(watch significant figures and units.)
- Show all your work (show the steps of your solution!)
- 50% of grade is for seriously attempting all questions
- 50% of grade comes from one question I choose at random to grade.
QUESTIONS
- (a) What is the magnitude of a point charge that would create a 2.00 N/C electric field at a point 1.25 m away from it?
(b) What is the linear charge density of a long line of charge that would create the same electric field 1.25 m away from it? - A charge (-5.00 C) is placed on the x-axis at x = +20.0 cm.
A charge (-1.00 C) is placed on the x-axis at x = +11.0 cm.
What is the magnitude and direction of the net electric field created at the origin by these two charges? (direction will be left or right)
[Image unavailable: Screen Shot 2021-09-11 at 1.14.40 PM.png] - Find the total Electric Field vector at Point P in the image on the right.
use values |Q| = 12.0 mC, a = 3.00 cm, b = 4.00 cm. - The electric field created by a disc of charge (with charge density 𝝈, radius R) a distance z from its center is given by the equation: [Image unavailable: Screen Shot 2022-02-27 at 8.46.21 PM.png]. A disk of radius 2.5 cm has a surface charge density of 15.3 mC/m2.
- What is the magnitude of the electric field produced by the disk at a point on its central axis at distance z = 11.0 cm from the disk?
- What is the magnitude of the electric field when the distance from Part A is doubled?
- For the image below, a line of uniformly distributed charge (charge +Q, length L) is arranged along the x-axis with one end at the origin as shown below. Use methods similar to those done in my video to find the E-field created at Point P (which is at x = L + d). This one is a little tougher, if you solve it YOU WILL BE A LEGEND!
