Physics Question

Overview

Problem 1 (10 points)

A certain motorcycle with a mass of 350 kg is having engine troubles, such that the force the

engine exerts varies. The following is a graph of the net force on the motorcycle. If the motorcycle has an initial velocity of 18 m/s, how fast is it going after it drives 100 m?

A video or voice note of you explaining your solution to one of the questions (your choice which one). Your explanation should be thorough and sufficient to explain it to someone freshly learning this material(make you please make me some notes so i can say it in my video for question1)

Problem 2 (10 points)

A child is playing with a toy car of mass m. The child has set up a downhill ramp that leads to a circular loop with a radius of 0.55 m. Assuming friction between the wheels and the track is negligible: (a) What is the lowest height on the ramp the child can release the car from rest such that it will stay in contact with the top of the loop as it goes around? (b) After starting at this height, find the centripetal force on the car when it is halfway up the loop, in terms of m, the mass of the car, and g. (c) After going through the loop, the car collides with and sticks to a second car which starts at rest and has half the mass of the first. What is the second car’s velocity after this collision?

Problem 3 (10 points)

A block with a mass of 0.85 kg is held at rest on a spring at the base of a 23° ramp, as shown. The spring has been compressed by 0.6 m and has a spring constant of 70 N/m. The block is released from rest and slides up the ramp to a height of 0.9 m above its starting point, where it stops and does not start sliding again. (a) Draw a free-body diagram for the block immediately after it is released from rest. (b) Find the work done by the force of friction as the block slides up the ramp. (c) Find the coefficients of static and kinetic friction between the block and the ramp
