Physics Question

Overview

Please check and guide me on the following problems:

  1. de Broglie wavelength calculations
    • (a) For an electron with kinetic energy 3 eV.
    • (b) For a proton with kinetic energy 3 eV.
  2. Heisenberg uncertainty principle problems
    • (a) Find the smallest region (∆x) in which an electron can be confined if the uncertainty in velocity is 2 × 10⁴ m/s.
    • (b) For an electron confined to 0.1 nm, find:
      • Uncertainty in momentum (∆p).
      • Kinetic energy corresponding to that ∆p.
  3. Macroscopic quantum estimate
    • Estimate the minimum velocity measurable for a billiard ball (100 g) confined to a 1 m table.
  4. Lifetime–energy uncertainty
    • For a Σ particle (rest energy = 1385 MeV, lifetime = 2 × 10⁻²³ s), find the typical energy range (∆E) of rest energy measurements.
