Sergeant Marilyn Thompson was trying to convey in her research paper that for years women in policing have to work harder than the male officers to prove they’re fit for the job. Thompson gave us a timeline up today how black females were being treated and gave her own experience. She wants to break that cycle by putting more diversity on the law enforcement. That male officers shouldn’t feel trigger by a female officer. Males for years have been dominating the law enforcement. Now, its time for a new change.
I do agree. People of color are most likely to be harassed by a police officer. One bad experience with a police officer discourages someone not to be a police officer in the future. But, we need more diversity people on the law enforcement to create a safe and trustful bond with the community. In my opinion, I feel safer if I see a female officer. Maybe others feel the same
