instructions in the documents below along side article
c) Answer the following three questions in clearly marked parts, by having “Part One:” and “Part Two:” and “Part Three,” stated in your review as subtitles:
I) What is the question the author tries to answer or the problem he/she tries to present a solution for? II) What is the answer/solution the author presents? III) Is there anything missing? Here, you may believe that nothing is missing, and that is fine.
Here is a hypothetical example: John Doe (name of the student) 0000 (last four digits of student ID) I) The question the author tries to answer: wouehwoij9mdxwkmdwjedwhdqhwzqdxbhuwdhiuwhuqhuqqwhdbqwhqwhqhwuhqhquw huqwhqwzbhqiuwhxuqhwuqhbwubq... II) The author’s answer: wouehwoij9mdxwkmdwjedwhdqhwzqdxbhuwdhiuwhuqhuqqwhdbqwhqwhqhwuhqhquw huqwhqwzbhqiuwhxuqhwuqhbwubq.. III) What is missing in the article: (You may not see anything missing in the answer. If so, just state that nothing seems to be missing) Reviews that do not have all three parts will receive no credit
d) LENGTH AND QUOTATION INSTRUCTIONS: Please make sure that
I) The review must be between 1100 and 1200 words (articles shorter than 1100 receive no credit). The word count must be based on a Microsoft Words version of the article.
I) The review must have appropriate citations. Whenever reference is made to something that the author of the article has said, thought, believed, written, you must put the page number where the information comes from in prentices and at the end of the sentence where the information is introduced.
Here is a hypothetical example: Hoipkemier argues that Machiavelli is a strong opponent of liberalism (p. 38). Reviews that have no citation or inadequate citation (e.g., introduce information without having the page number reference to the source of information), will receive no credit
Your review cannot include ANY direct quotes from the article or my lectures. When presenting the author’s ideas, write what he has written in your own words, and then cite the source as explained above. There is a 10% (out of 10% credit for the review) penalty for each sentence of direct quotes. So, if a student directly quotes three sentences from the article, and otherwise their review has no problem, they will receive 7% for the article review.
e) There is a penalty for papers with multiple grammar problems.
