Political Science Question

Overview

Description: This course provides an introduction to game-theoretic models in political science, with a special, though not exclusive, emphasis on applications of these models to international politics. It examines political, military, and economic choices under conditions of certainty, risk, and uncertainty. Topics include game-theoretic treatments of battles and warfare, arms races, crises, deterrence, superpower conflict, international negotiations, power, and alliance and coalition politics.

The examinations will require students to compose answers in MS Word format and submit these answers to Brightspace. Some responses will require a graphical response which may be composed either by using Word’s drawing tools or by drawing figures by hand and submitting these drawings electronically. Students who are unable to answer these questions will not be able to complete the course successfully.

The exam is on March 7th at 9:30am-10:30am EST. You will have 3 days to look over the material, study, and prepare for the exam.

Brightspace info will be provided.

Exam General Instructions: Read questions carefully. Answer them specifically. Conciseness and neatness count.

Question 2 requires you to construct two (2) game trees. Question 3 requires you to draw two (2) strategic form games.

You can do this in MS Word, a graphics program, or simply draw your answer on a piece of paper. If you create the drawing in a program, you can simply insert the file you create. If you draw your answer on a piece of paper, you can take a picture and then insert it in the answer space. Please submit standard file types (i.e., PDF or jpeg). Please do not submit files with the heic extension.

For questions 4 to 11, please answer only 4. If you answer more than 4, I will grade only the first 4. Your grade will be based on 100.
