Overview
Indigenous peoples have resisted colonial capitalistic oppression for hundreds of years around the world, they have developed complex political thought models and proposals, and unique ways of living that can represent alternatives for the future. Write an essay, using at least five (5) authors (1. Michael Lowy, 2. David Pellow and Jasmine Vazin, 3. Maristella Svampa, 4. Fernando David Márquez Duarte, Liliana Plumeda Aguilar, Raúl Ramos Sánchez, 5. Glen Sean Coulthard) where you discuss how Indigenous group’s ideas, thought, ways of living and political mobilizations intertwine with environmental issues and/or Marxist ideas and what can we learn for better futures. Essay can be strengthened with the use of more specific examples of that you then use the authors to support, rather than summarizing the authors and providing a broad example as a side. It is important that you cite the readings discussed and add the bibliography at the end. You can use any citing format that you prefer (APA, Chicago, Harvard, etc.).
Elements to consider for grading:
Essay should be related to the prompt.
Having a clear argument presented in the introduction with one or two supporting points, which they are supposed to develop through the essay, as well as a clear conclusion where the main argument and points are recapitulated.
- Citing authors in text and adding references at the end (any format) and complying with the minimum page extension.
- Complying with the minimum number of authors that I ask for in the prompt.
- Having a coherent argumentation throughout the essay (the authors cited and/or cases used support the main argument and are connected).
