Overview
Select a female candidate who is running or recently ran ( 2024- 2025) for political office and who is competing in races for a seat in the House of Representatives (U.S. Rep) or US Senate ( U.S. Sen). The candidate that you select must be an incumbent. Here is a list of candidates running for office this election cycle.
To develop a candidate profile, use online databases and newspaper articles to find information about your candidate. The candidate profile narrative on page 2 of this document provides links to databases containing information on political candidates. The links are provided to get you started; it is incumbent upon you to find all the necessary information to complete your profile.
The candidate profile is divided into four areas: the biography, legislative history/ key issues, news coverage/campaign message, and campaign finance section.
A series of questions accompany the categories to which you are to respond. The findings for each section should be described in a narrative. You are encouraged to include tables, charts, and graphs to complement the narrative when available.
