- Why do states cooperate according to neoliberal institutionalists and other liberal theorists, despite concerns about relative gains and what realists call “the prisoner’s dilemma?” To what extent does international law promote cooperation and prevent conflict among states?
- What economic challenges in the 21st century have been crises of economic globalization? What has been done in response and what should be done about globalization according to economic liberalism, mercantilism/economic nationalism, and economic radicalism?
- How do intergovernmental organizations (IGOs) and non-governmental organizations (NGOs) differ from one another in their membership and roles in the world? Should IGOs, especially the United Nations (UN), and NGOs have more or less influence in world politics?
