Overview

1. Compose a press release on a current human rights issue relating to the four core international crimes (Genocide, Aggression, War Crimes, or Crimes Against Humanity) in under 1500 words, citing relevant international or domestic legal standards and policy arguments, making effective, practical recommendations, and crafting effective quotations and titles. Use the structure and strategy we have discussed in class. Your press release will be issued by Human Rights International and include a quotation by YOU (!) and be written in compelling language, applying facts and law, and making recommendations for action. Please ensure that your citations are Chicago-style (drop-down at bottom of page), mirror the style of HRW Press Releases AND that you also submit a Works Cited Page. Some examples:
