Political Science Question

Watching the instructional videos and following the directions closely will be imperative to accessing, completing and submitting your work.

Reflect on the course material from IAL 501, Principals of Character-driven Leadership. Think about:

  • how the tenants of values, ethics, leadership, earning trust, emerge in the leader in me and "the environment I lead in."
  • how does the framework of Volatile, Uncertain, Complex and Ambiguous apply to the international affairs environment?

These foundational concepts are critical to applying leadership in the international affairs arena. The principals now reviewed will be applied to the remainder of the course in the non-profit, public, private and diplomatic sectors at home and abroad.

Instructions:

  1. Use your lecture notes to review values, ethics, leadership, earning trust, VUCA and the Environment I Lead theory.
  2. Brainstorm the topics and following questions on the collaborative Jamboard:
    • How do values impact international affairs?
    • How do ethics impact international affairs?
    • How does leadership impact international affairs?
    • Describe the environment you lead in.
    • Apply your analysis of VUCA to an example situation of your choice.
