There is no specific organization to the paper required, however your case study must address the following topics at a minimum:
- A summary of events and why it was characterized as an intelligence failure.
- Identify the primary issue(s) or cause(s) which resulted in the failure.
- Identify what changes, if any, were implemented in the Intelligence Community (IC) as a result of the event.
- Discuss if a similar failure in the IC could occur today, under what circumstances.
Your case study must meet the following standards:
- The paper will be between 1,000 – 1,500 words, not including title page and reference section.
- The paper will be in APA 7th edition style and format, no abstract required. I strongly recommend using the resources available from the APA website including their sample paper format and annotated sample paper,Links to an external site. the Purdue OWL,Links to an external site. and the UNH writing center.
- The paper will have a minimum of 6 references of varying type (e.g., news media, think tank reports, journal articles, government press releases, intelligence reports, etc.) Do not rely on a single source or type of source for your references.
- References will include source descriptor statements.
- Feel free to use maps, graphics, photos, etc., in your paper, however they are not required. If included they must be correctly referenced in APA format.
