Overview
Final Project = 250 points (200 points for project, 50 points for explainer)
Topic: FINAL PROJECT & EXPLAINER (250 points)
Students must select pick ONE KEY CONCEPT/THEME/ISSUE from the course and create a project to EXPLAIN THE CONCEPT/THEME/ISSUE IN YOUR OWN WORDS, as if you are trying to explain it to a friend, family member, or specific target audience of your choice.
This project offers you the freedom to compile a lesson however you choose - but it will be on you to make sure it is thorough enough to warrant a good grade for the final project. I won't provide minimum or maximum word counts, playlist lengths, photo counts, etc. for your project. Be thorough in your project and be able to explain in the accompanying "explainer" (short written blurb or video) paper how your project accomplished the goal of this assignment.
To receive FULL CREDIT, students must do the following:
- Pick ONE key concept, theme, or issue we've learned about this semester
- Explain it IN YOUR OWN WORDS
- Use any medium EXCEPT for a standard essay. For example:
- Record a podcast
- Create a presentation
- Make a Spotify playlist
- Curate a photo exhibit
- Record an oral presentation (with or without visuals)
- Create a "game" or interactive teaching module
- Make an interactive map or a series of data visualizations
- Create a sample infosheet/flyer, etc.
- Upload an "explainer" (short written blurb or video) to ensure your audience understands your format and goals
