Overview
Create an intelligence assessment of the following question: What effect will the melting of the Arctic Sea ice have on the national security of the United States? This assessment should be done from a DIA analyst's point of view. The DIA analyst will approach it from a military perspective (i.e., what military advantage can be gained by the sea ice melting, for whom, what vulnerabilities do they expose, etc.)
Note: This assessment is part of a larger group project and will be combined with other agency perspectives. The total word count for the group is 1500 for a four-member team. The objective is to highlight the most critical parts the DIA would focus on and report on. An outline is provided with recommended sources to help navigate. A page to a page and a half is really all that's needed, as each person is a bit limited in how much information can be provided for the respective assigned agency, which means there will be a lot of synthesis and editing and very little – if any – direct quotes from your sources.
