Develop a document containing only two paragraphs. The first paragraph must address the statement of your research problem, while the second paragraph will present your statement of your research purpose. Both statements must align well with each other. The entire document should be no more than two pages in length, 12 point font, double-spaced. Submit your document in Microsoft Word (.doc or .docx files) so it can be checked by Turnitin. As you submit your document, include proof that you located your selected resources by using either Nexis Uni or Fastcase through the APUS Library. NOTES: - This will be a formal submission, so beginning with this first assignment, everything you turn in must have a formal cover page, in the format provided in the Concept Paper Template. - Remember that you must write formally. That means that you must write in complete sentences, in plain business English (which means in the same way that you might write a formal document for a paying customer or client) with proper grammar and writing mechanics. All information must be properly cited. - Since this is academic writing, you are required to use footnotes (not endnotes!) for your citations, and you will refer to the Whitepages in the Bluebook, not the Bluepages (which are for non-academic writing, such as court documents). Carefully review Bluebook Rules 1, 2, and 3, as they give you a comprehensive overview of the Bluebook conventions for things like generally how to cite sources in the text of your document, font, internal cross-references, and other things that are sure to come up as you write your concept paper proposal throughout the rest of this course. - You must cite to your resources used to build your statement of the research problem and statement of the research purpose in footnotes, as well as in Bluebook style. This assignment will also be relevant to all of the remaining assignments in this class; it is important beyond this one grade. |
