Introduction: Literature review with approximately 40 sources discussing the following.
1. Collective trauma and its connections to personal trauma
- How collective trauma shapes the environment where personal trauma occurs (e.g. war environment can cause PTSD), collective trauma as antecedent and basis for personal trauma.
- Cultural memory/meaning for identity/Symbolism of traumatic event (e.g. The tempi train crush in Greece, severe case of trauma for the families symbolizes the negligence and indifference of the state.) Feel free to use other examples or inspirations as well.
- Epigenetics of trauma (e.g. for collective could be holocaust survivors) and common elements between collective trauma and personal trauma (e.g. cases of hate crimes/ethnic cleansing, difference in scale of traumatic event?) other examples may be used.
2. The connections of trauma with daily stressors, religious beliefs, attitudes towards family formation, resilience and social status.
3. How are gender and being LGBTQ related with trauma and the above?
4. How do trauma, gender, and being an LGBTQ person affect stress and satisfaction with life?
Discussion: Interpreting the results and discussing possible limitations of the study. Comparisons with previous research (if any) and explaining significant and non-significant findings. Implications of the study on theoretical frameworks and suggestions for future research. Apart from referencing sources mentioned before new sources could be introduced in the discussion with caution because the literature review happens in the introduction.
APA style should be used throughout. The Methods and Results sections will be available in the next couple of days for better understanding.
