Critical Analysis of Resources and communications brief

Overview

a.Part 1 Critical Analysis of Resources You/your team will select one of the following topics (violence in video games, video game addiction, or internet addiction) and conduct a search for 1 popularized resource that provides information on the topic (e.g., if you select internet addiction you may review the Wikipedia article on Internet Addiction Disorder). Provide a reference/link to the two resources you select and develop a critical analysis that will include the following:

i.What audience is this resource geared toward? How do you know this? (less than 50 words)

ii.What types of information are relayed? (point form ~150-200 words)

iii. What are the biases associated with the authors/developers of this content? (~50-100 words)

iv.How can the audience best leverage information in this resource? (point form ~150-200 words)

b.Part 2 Create Digital Media for a Resource Your team is going to develop a communications brief OR digital media graphic/video (e.g., you can create a meme or image like you did in Challenge 1) that links a stakeholder of your choosing (see list below) to one of the resources related to the topic you’ve selected in Part 1 (above). Now is your chance to be more creative because the digital media you create will frame HOW the resource can be used by the stakeholder. The idea is that you are developing digital content that helps inform the reader before they land on the resource – you can think of this like a communications brief or headline of a news story that draws you into a full magazine article but what you’re creating provides more critical insight to inform the reader. An example would be a blurb or a short video (1-2min) for parents on how to approach their child about taking the Social Media Disorder scale survey.
