Reflect on the previous weeks of this course and think about your initial philosophy statement from Unit 1. (I have included a copy of my week 1 assignment for a reference point)
How has your philosophy statement evolved since the beginning of class? Think about your general views, values, and principles upholding your philosophy. Include elements from the topics covered throughout the text. You do not have to include every topic but should include those that are relevant to your personal and professional development. Reflect on your personal and professional growth from the past weeks and discuss what resonated with you about what your learned about counseling diverse populations. Share how your faith or Christian worldview shapes or informs you about how to treat others; especially those who are different from you. Include information from Vazquez’s textbook and scripture passages to support your philosophy statement.
What theory or model learned in this class will help you assess your clients?
Address the ACA Code of Ethics or your state’s licensure codes related to multicultural counseling, social justice, and advocacy. Discuss how these codes help counselors to identity and eliminate barriers, prejudices, and processes of intentional or unintentional oppression and discrimination.
The paper will be 8-10 pages of content and will include a title page and reference page. Follow APA format. Include a minimum of seven peer reviewed sources. You may count your textbooks as sources. Grammar and mechanics will also be graded. You may use first person point of view.
