Esther is an undergraduate student who has just learned about Freud’s theory of personality in a live lecture. After reflecting on this new knowledge, Esther exclaimed in front of the whole class: “Wow, this is such nonsense! If I had come up with this theory, I’d be arrested!” Her classmates laughed, but soon, Ricky put up his hand and said: “Actually, I agree with Esther! I just don’t see that children have sexual urges, and I can’t imagine that anyone could sexualize children like this!” What do you think? Is Freud’s theory nonsense? Did Freud sexualize children?
