Who am I? Reflection
Unit 2 Assignment
First ask: How do I see myself? List the skills, abilities, knowledge, competencies, and personality characteristics that describe how you see yourself. To generate this list, try completing these sentences: “I am skilled at …”; I have the ability to …”; “I know things about …”; I am competent at doing …”; and “One part of my personality is that I am …”
List as many characteristics in each category as you can think of, both positive and challenged.
What you have developed is an inventory of your self-concept.
Second ask: How do others see me? List the skills, abilities, and so on that describe how you think others see you by completing these sentences: “Other people believe I am skilled at …”; “Other people believe I have the ability to …”; “Other people believe I know things about …”; “Other people believe I am competent at doing …”; and “One part of my personality is that other people believe I am …”.
How do you think other people see you as challenged.
Third: Check your perception: Interview someone who knows you well and check your perception
Fourth: Compare what you have found to how God sees you. What does He say in His word about who you are? List those things. How does your self-concept compare to His perception of you?
Optional: If you like working electronically, you can create a word cloud from the words in your answers and in the answer from someone else.
Compare all your lists. How are they similar? Where are they different? Do you understand why they differ?
Write a 3-5 page reflection paper based on what you have learned.
Be sure to include concepts from your reading and examples from your life and to address the following areas:

How did your spiritual background (upbringing, conversion etc.) and your knowledge of the Bible shape your view of yourself?
