After reading the chapters, address the following questions:
- Discuss the role of health psychology in advancing medical treatment and research. What contributions do health psychologists bring to the table that help physicians and healthcare workers understand the etiology (causes/development) of illness?
- Define the biopsychosocial model and discuss how it contributes to a fuller understanding of the development of diseases (physical and/or mental).
Read over the grading rubric for discussions before posting. Post your initial response by Wednesday. You must make a minimum of three substantive responses to other posts on two separate days of the learning week.
