- Go to ChatGPT (chatgpt.com) or any other artificial program you might already use. You might have to create a free account to use the website
- Ask ChatGPT to answer these two questions for you:
- Define mean, median, and mode and then provide an example of when you would use each. Make sure you explain why you would use that measure of central tendency for each example
- Explain the difference between variance and standard deviation. Explain why we tend to report standard deviation instead of variance
- Copy the answer that ChatGPT gives you and post it into your discussion board response
- Now, write a 100-150 word reflection about the answer that ChatGPT gave you. Your reflection should include the following:
- What do you like about the response from ChatGPT?
- What do you think ChatGPT got wrong or is unclear?
- If you had answered the question yourself, what is at least one thing you would have said differently than ChatGPT did?
- What did you learn from this about why we should be careful about simply copying from ChatGPT (other than it is cheating)? [The point of this assignment is to get you to think about central tendency and variance, and to get you to think critically about the dangers of using ChatGPT to do your thinking for you. So please make sure that your reflection cleary discusses these two main points.]
