Overview

Academic Integrity Policy – Use of Artificial Intelligence (AI)

The use of artificial intelligence (AI) tools, including but not limited to ChatGPT, GrammarlyGO, QuillBot, or any other content-generating or paraphrasing software—is strictly prohibited for completing any assignments, essays, discussion posts, or graded work in this course.

All submitted work must represent your own original thinking and writing. Any submission that includes content generated—wholly or partially—by AI tools will result in academic penalties, including but not limited to receiving a zero for the assignment and potential reporting for academic misconduct as outlined in the institution’s Academic Integrity Policy.

Important Submission Instructions

Before uploading your essay, review the detailed assignment instructions located in the Week 3 Assignments folder. It is your responsibility to follow all requirements carefully. Failure to adhere to any part of the guidelines may result in a significant reduction in your grade.

Formatting Requirement:

Your essay must follow APA7th ed formatting precisely as instructed. This includes font, spacing, margins, in-text citations, and sources. Any deviation from the APA 7th Ed guidelines will result in automatic point deductions as indicated in the grading rubric.

Your essay must be submitted on or before the assigned due date. Late submissions will be penalized as follows:

  • Up to 24 hours late: 10% deduction
  • 1–3 days late: 20% deduction
  • 4–7 days late: 30% deduction
  • More than 7 days late: Not accepted without prior approval

Please plan accordingly to avoid last-minute technical issues or delays.

Attachment Instructions:

  • Your submission must be in Microsoft Word format (doc or .docx) ONLY.
  • DO NOT copy and paste your essay into the text submission field.

  • Use the Attachment icon (paperclip symbol) located in the menu bar at the top of this submission page to upload your file.
  • Submissions in any format other than Word will not be accepted and may result in a grade of zero.

Grading Criteria:

To understand how your essay will be evaluated, please consult the Evaluation Rubric provided on the right-hand side of the submission page. The rubric outlines the specific criteria that will be used to assess content, organization, formatting, mechanics, and adherence to assignment requirements.

If you have any questions regarding these instructions, reach out in advance of the deadline. You are expected to meet all requirements and submit your work responsibly and ethically.
