Lesson 05 - Discussion
Please keep in mind that the discussion board is not a blog or a social platform; it is a professional writing platform for you to demonstrate content knowledge while contributing to the conversation to help deepen your understanding and your classmates' understanding of the subject matter. You must include an in-text citation and reference from your course textbook to demonstrate content knowledge (original post and each reply). When quoting or paraphrasing from a source, you must also use an in-text citation and reference.
Your discussion body content must meet the minimum word count for your work to be considered for grading. This excludes any headings, greetings, reference lists, discussion questions, and AI statements. Remember, you are not writing a blog or social page; therefore, please write in a narrative format (sentences and paragraphs). Do not write the questions or number your work.
Answer the below questions without writing out the questions (write a complete paragraph for each). You must have an in-text citation and reference from the course textbook to support what you are saying. Follow the above rules for discussion postings.
- What is the difference between a closed and an open group and what are some advantages and disadvantages for each?
- What are a few methods that can be used in recruiting members?
- What issue should be explored during a pre-group interview?
- You have a candidate that is insisting on becoming a member and will not take no for an answer. Write a one-line quote response showing how you would tell them that they are not a good fit for your group.
