HUS3204 Advance group dynamics

Lesson 06 - Discussion

In this program, students must adhere to scholarly standards, write at the bachelor's level using the APA writing style, and maintain academic integrity. They are also expected to think critically, follow instructions, and demonstrate content knowledge and time management skills.

Please keep in mind that the discussion board is not a blog or a social platform; it is a professional writing platform for you to demonstrate content knowledge while contributing to the conversation to help deepen your understanding and your classmates' understanding of the subject matter. You must include an in-text citation and reference from your course textbook to demonstrate content knowledge (original post and each reply). When quoting or paraphrasing from a source, you must also use an in-text citation and reference.

Your discussion body content must meet the minimum word count for your work to be considered for grading. This excludes any headings, greetings, reference lists, discussion questions, and AI statements. Remember, you are not writing a blog or social page; therefore, please write in a narrative format (sentences and paragraphs). Do not write the questions or number your work.

Answer the below questions without writing out the questions (write a complete paragraph for each). You must have an in-text citation and reference from the course textbook to support what you are saying. Follow the above rules for discussion postings.

  1. A major task of the early phase of a group is to help members define their personal goals. What is a method that can help members translate global goals into concrete goals? Create an intervention to help members define their personal goals.
  2. What are some specific ways to help open a group session? Write a short script showing how you would open your group session. Create another short script showing what it would look like to use mindfulness during the opening of your group session.
