Presentation
Research a topic related to marriage and family such as: adoption, single parent families, dual-income families, working class families, privileged families, divorce, skipped-generation families, donor families, family ties, kinships, disposable ties, Hispanic families, African American families etc. You will need to fully research the topics selected and create a presentation on the topic. The research completed and presented must go beyond the information covered in this course. Here is ted that the video is shorter than required and has more bells and whistles than your presentation requires; however, you get an idea of what a video presentation should look like. Citations (in-text citations) need to be present throughout the video and the full citations should be listed at the presentation.
In order to successfully complete this activity:
- You will need to create a 10-minute voice over presentation of the topic selected. You should use Kaltura or Canva to create your presentation.
- You will need to cite the sources used on each slide as well as on the reference slide in APA format. Remember, this is a research presentation. Use in-text formatting when citing the source used for each slide
- You will need to use a minimum of 4 sources for the presentation. One of which can be non-academic. Please use the Library database to access your resources
- Within the presentation you must clearly identify two new vocabulary terms (terms we have not studied but are part of your research) and provide the definition for each term. You will also need to cite the source for the definition provided
- Dictionaries, Encyclopedia’s, YouTube videos/content cannot be used as a source for the presentation
- Each slide must contain a wealth of information, but it should not be too wordy.
- You are encouraged to be creative in putting the presentation together
- Within the presentation, you must show your understanding of the topic researched. Do not just read off information from the slides to the class. It is important to use your own words when discussing your research findings.
- Along with the audio presentation, submit a .pdf copy of your presentation. You will be submitting two separate files: an audio presentation and a .pdf copy of the presentation you created.
- Once you have posted your presentation, you will need to review at least two of your fellow classmates’ presentations. After reviewing each presentation, you will need to comment on each presentation reviewed. Each comment must be at least 5 sentences in length and must be relevant to the content within the presentation. You must show your understanding of the information presentation. The review of each presentation is worth 5 points. You can earn up to a maximum of 10 points for the reviews (5 points per review).
