HUS3204 Advance group dynamics

Lesson 08 - Discussion

Please keep in mind that the discussion board is not a blog or a social platform; it is a professional writing platform for you to demonstrate content knowledge while contributing to the conversation to help deepen your understanding and your classmates' understanding of the subject matter. You must include an in-text citation and reference from your course textbook to demonstrate content knowledge (original post and each reply). When quoting or paraphrasing from a source, you must also use an in-text citation and reference.

Your discussion body content must meet the minimum word count for your work to be considered for grading. This excludes any headings, greetings, reference lists, discussion questions, and AI statements. Remember, you are not writing a blog or social page; therefore, please write in a narrative format (sentences and paragraphs). Do not write the questions or number your work.

Answer the below questions without writing out the questions (write a complete paragraph for each). You must have an in-text citation and reference from the course textbook to support what you are saying. Follow the above rules for discussion postings.

  1. How is hope a therapeutic factor in a group? What are other types of interventions for exploring a member’s fears at various stages of a group?
  2. What can the group leader do to encourage appropriate member disclosure? How can the group leader determine when disclosures are useful to others in the group?
  3. What are some ways to teach members to give and receive feedback?

Discussion Requirements:

Original Discussion Post - Due Saturday before the assigned Canvas Discussion due date. Late work and work that does not meet the minimum word count will not be graded.

  • Fully respond to the questions being asked.
  • Demonstrate content knowledge from our course textbook. Refrain from oversharing.
  • Write without the word "I" and fully spell out all words (it is, does not, etc.).
  • You must have a minimum of 150 words. Grammar, spelling, and punctuation will affect your grade, so be sure to proof your work before submitting it.
  • You must have an in-text citation from our course textbook to support what you are saying. You will need a reference for your in-text citation. Any information taken from a source (other than your classmate or professor) must include an in-text citation and reference to avoid plagiarism. Not including a properly formatted in-text citation and reference will affect your grade.
