Peer Review Background

Part I: Conducting a Peer Review

Please conduct your peer-review in a separate Word document.

Please consider that your goal is not to grade a peer's work, but to offer insight based on your understanding of the course content and your own experience/judgement. Your role is also not to just comment on grammar, punctuation, or similar easy to identify concerns.

Please offer feedback that considers the following 6 points as you conduct your review:

  1. Does the paper show alignment with a specific goal? Is the intervention tied to a well-defined objective?
  2. Does the Objective have SMART Goals?
  3. Are the goals appropriate for the group being targeted?
  4. Does the analysis consider who will support or oppose the initiative? Why hasn’t this been done before? Why will the approach succeed? Does it identify allies and potential barriers? Are there references to specifically support this?
  5. Does a very specific approach (strategy) help achieve the goal. Are concrete steps that will implement the strategy clear?
  6. Will progress be assessed? What indicators will be used to show that you are on track to meet your outcome?

Once written, your review should answer questions like "does my peer understand the points I'm trying to get across?" and "am I using the right arguments and evidence for the points I am making on items 1-6?"
