PART ONE
1. The purpose of the audience analysis is to give you a better idea of your audience's interests, knowledge, and attitudes toward your topic. The next step is your adaptation plan. (See Chapter 16).
Instructions: Write a one-page report analyzing your audience and revealing your adaptation plan (See Chapter 16). In other words, describe who is in your audience and explain how you will use their responses to make adjustments to your speech.

To help you focus your adaptation strategy, ask yourself the following questions:
● Do I need to give my audience big-picture information?
● Will my audience need statistical facts to understand my topic?
● Should I supply definitions of key terms?
● Are members of my audience too young or too old to relate to my topic?
● Do I show images or have tangible objects to gain my audience's attention?
● How much background information do I need to provide?
