Psychology Question

Overview

As your textbook points out, it is important to identify exactly what element or specific concept of body image we want to measure when choosing an evaluative tool. Your textbook has an excellent compendium of valid and reliable body image assessments, and your classmates posted examples of various assessments. Part of your work as a professional in the field of health and wellness involves researching and using various assessment tools and instruments.

Review all of your classmates' postings in the Body Image Assessments Discussion Board. Take time to investigate the assessments and instruments they analyzed.

Choose the 5 instruments that you find most interesting and think you may use in your professional work. Your 5 chosen instruments must be different instruments. To avoid losing points, do not analyze the same instrument more than once.

Create a document with a section for each of the 5 instruments you found to be most interesting.

Copy and paste the prompts (below) into each of the 5 sections. Failure to copy and paste the prompts will result in a 25% grade deduction.

Write your answers underneath each question. Analyze each instrument by answering each of the 5 questions in all 5 sections. Each section is worth 7 points, for a total of 35 points. Yes, you will have these questions copied and pasted five different times. You may bullet point your answers.

  1. Classmate's first and last name that you are peer reviewing (1 point)
  2. What is the title of the instrument and the objective of the instrument? In other words, what does the instrument measure or provide information about? (2 points)
  3. What population is the scale intended for and why? (2 points)
  4. What type of practitioner might use this instrument? (1 point)
  5. How would this instrument be helpful or useful in the assessment of body image? (1 point)
  6. PLEASE USE THE BOOK TO COMPLETE THIS ASSIGNMENT

Again, you will complete this analysis process for FIVE different instruments and answer the above questions FIVE different times, so your assignment will have FIVE sections. Each section is worth SEVEN points, for a grand assignment total of THIRTY-FIVE points.
