No extra credit work will be accepted late for any reason, and so I suggest that you work on and submit this as soon as you can to avoid missing the deadline. Don’t wait until the last minute! It is due at 11:59pm on Sunday, December 7. You can earn up to ten extra credit points to be added to your final grade.
For this extra credit, pick one of the top ten reasons to study statistics and research methods that are provided on the graphic below. You can pick the one you agree with most, the one you disagree with most, the one you find more interesting, the one you find most boring, etc. The one you pick and why you pick it is up to you!
Then write a 200–300-word essay that explains why you picked the reason that you did. Do you agree with it, and if so, why? Do you disagree with it, and if so, why? Do you think it is correct? Incorrect? Critically discuss the reason you picked, and make sure you connect your discussion to class material in a direct and specific way.
The extra credit will be graded – it is not an automatic ten points just for submitting the work. So, please make sure your content is accurate and that your essay is well-written. “Do not use artificial intelligence.”
