After reading the articles and websites for this week, you will create an annotated bibliography in which you review four, recent articles that focus on a pharmacologic treatment for the neurocognitive condition identified and one patient education website that outlines treatments for the identified neurocognitive condition.
Articles must be recent (no more than 5 years old) and focus on a medication treatment of the identified condition. Issues of diversity must be considered when locating articles. For example, you may include research articles that are diverse in their sampling (comparing medication treatment outcomes for clients of different races or socioeconomic status).
Start the annotation by providing the DSM-5-TR diagnoses and ICD-10 code for your chosen neurocognitive disorder. Next, give the full reference for the first article using APA formatting.
Then, write a brief synopsis of the article in your own words address the following:
- Brief synopsis of the subjects (the patients included), the treatment/medication being investigated, the results of the work
- A summary of the findings and the implications for clinical treatment.
Your annotations should state, for each resource, a summary of the article and why it is relevant to the intended clinical area. The finished annotation should serve as a detailed overview of the current treatment evidence that reduces your need to go back and re-read the entire article.
Summarize the article in a paragraph by including the following:
- If the article is a research study, it should include the purpose of the study, sample and method of the study, and key results of the study.
- For websites, or if the article is a literature review or theoretical piece, highlight three to four of the most significant take-home points.
Do not use direct quotes—the annotation should be written in your own words. You do not need to use in-text (parenthetical) citations in your paragraph because it is assumed that everything is from the named reference. Your annotated bibliography does not need to be lengthy, but it does need to be informative and useful.

- References: 4 scholarly, peer-reviewed journal articles focused on a medication treatment and one credible patient education website
- Your paper should include 5 total references.
- Articles must not be more than 5 years old.
Your activity should demonstrate thoughtful consideration of the ideas and concepts presented in the course and provide new ideas and insights relating directly to this topic. Your response should reflect scholarly writing and current APA standards. Be sure to adhere to National University's Academic Integrity Policy.
