Overview
Students will develop a comprehensive behavior plan using functional assessment data and the O’Neill textbook appendices. This assignment requires analyzing a dataset, including interviews, behavior definitions, antecedent analysis, and maintaining consequences, to identify patterns and hypothesize the function of behavior.
Students will complete the Summary Statement Form by identifying setting events, predictors, problem behaviors, and maintaining consequences, leading to a functional hypothesis. Next, they will construct the Competing Behavior Pathway Diagram, mapping out the desired behavior, problem behavior, replacement behavior, antecedents, and consequences. Using this information, they will create a behavior support plan outlining proactive strategies, environmental modifications, reinforcement procedures, and intervention strategies aligned with the function of the behavior.
Use the template provided to include the Indirect Assessment (FAST/MAS/QABF), the Direct Assessment (ABC data), Positive Environmental Checklist and the Preference Assessment (that you have completed previously). Then add in relevant information in the template.
Add as an attachment to the word document the Summary Statement Form and the Competing Behavior Pathway Diagram.
Write a rationale that must accompany the plan, explaining the selected interventions and their theoretical basis. The final submission must follow APA guidelines, including a title page, in-text citations, and a reference page. Clarity, professionalism, and adherence to behavior analytic principles are essential. This assignment provides practical experience in designing function-based interventions, a critical skill for behavior analysts.
