This week we're discussing neuropsychological assessments. Your book offers a brief summary of a handful of measures, but there is much more to learn.

In your discussion, include a brief summary of the purpose of neuropsychological evaluations. Then, provide a complete description of the test you selected last week. Include information such as what the test measures, why a neuropsychologist might administer this test, procedures for test administration, and the information that may be obtained from the test. Feel free to include pictures, videos, or other information that may provide an illustration of the test. This is a good way for us to explore different measures and learn from each other.

    PART 2 Good afternoon Professor For my Week 7 video presentation, I plan to focus on the use and evaluation of projective methods of personality assessment, with particular emphasis on the Rorschach Inkblot Test and the Thematic Apperception Test (TAT).

For this assignment, you will create a video presentation on your topic that was approved by your professor in week 5. If you have changed your mind, please contact your professor to receive approval on your new topic. You may select any topic from your textbook related to psychological tests and assessment.

  • Option 1: You will create a PowerPoint (or equivalent) of your presentation and add a voice-over.
  • Option 2: If you are unable to add voice-over to your PowerPoint, you will create a PowerPoint (or equivalent) of your presentation. Next, you will use Screencast-o-Matic (or a similar program) to create a video recording of your screen and voice as your present the information. Third, you will upload the video presentation to YouTube so your professor can view it. If you choose this option, you will submit your article as well as the PowerPoint (or equivalent) file and the link to the YouTube presentation to complete this assignment.

Guidelines:

  1. The presentation must include both audio (your voice explaining the information) and visual (PowerPoint presentation including text and/or images). Videos should not be used within the presentation.
  2. The presentation should include the following three aspects:
  3. An overview of your specific topic and its importance and application in current society. Include historical information as appropriate to understand your topic.
  4. Identification, discussion, and critical analysis of psychometric properties (reliability and validity) of the most frequently used assessment instruments related to your topic. Include the typical settings and purposes for which assessment instruments are used.
  5. Discussion of the ethical, cultural, and societal issues concerning the use of psychological tests and assessment as related to your topic.
  6. The presentation must be 15 minutes long (no more than 20).
  7. The presentation must include information from at least 10 scholarly sources (if used, the course textbook does not count as one of these 10 sources).
  8. APA style citations should be used within the presentation. A reference section (in APA style) should appear at the end of the presentation
