4325 ASSESS 4

Create a PowerPoint presentation on your experience with your selected coping strategy and relaxation technique.

Introduction

You are now at your final assessment for this course. It's time to revise the work that you put together for Assessment 1. Your final assessment will involve a presentation in which you focus on your work with the coping strategy and relaxation technique you have chosen. Whether it has taken you days, weeks, or months to get to this final assessment, reflect on how you have used your chosen coping strategy and relaxation technique in your everyday life to pursue a path of wellness. Consider how you can continue to use these two approaches, along with others, as you leave this course and continue with your life journey. How will you share what you have learned in this course with others?

Remember that there are small things we can do each day to reduce our feelings of stress and enhance wellness.

  • An exercise routine can reduce stress, reduce heart rate, and make us look and feel better. Your exercise can be as simple as walking your dog! (Popov et al., 2021). Consider opting outside this week and engaging in an active physical endeavor of your choice.
  • What is your go-to small action to reduce stress? And, what else might you try? Consider walking your dog, petting your cat, reading a book, having a cup of tea, knitting, playing a musical instrument, et cetera (Li et al., 2022).

Your journey with wellness and self-care is a lifelong process, and I want to leave you with one final thought. Remember to label your stress. Sometimes that sounds odd to people, but too often we think of ourselves as stress—we "own" it too much. Stress isn't you, and you are not stress. Consider the toolbox of strategies and techniques you have built during this course, and remember to use it throughout your academic journey and your life.

This course has covered a variety of topics that may have been emotionally and intellectually challenging. Preparation

To prepare for this project, you may want to keep notes on how you use the coping strategy and relaxation technique that you've chosen—as these can be used to inform the writing of your PowerPoint.

***My chosen are: Expressive art therapy as a coping strategy and exercise and nutrition as a relaxation technique.***

Assessment Instructions

Create a PowerPoint presentation that includes the following elements:

  • Title slide.
  • Coping Strategy (2–3 slides).
  • Relaxation Technique (2–3 slides).
  • Experience with Coping Strategy (1–2 slides).
  • Experience with Relaxation Technique (1–2 slides).
  • Present suggestions for how you could use both of these in the future or perhaps why you might want to try different coping strategies and relaxation techniques (1–2 slides).
  • References.

Note: Each slide should include a recording or speaker notes to explain that slide's key points in more detail.

Additional Requirements

When submitting your presentation, you have the option of submitting a recording of your presentation or including speaker notes. Please double check that you do include one or the other to complement your slides! Speaker notes typically accompany each individual slide. Provide 1–2 additional paragraphs of explanation for the bullet points that appear on that individual slide. A recording would include that same content, but spoken instead of written.

  • Written communication: Written communication is professional, with correct grammar, usage, and mechanics.
  • Resources: Use a minimum of seven sources—your textbook and six peer-reviewed journal articles from the Capella University Library.
  • APA formatting: References and citations are formatted according to APA style and formatting.
  • Length: 9–14 PowerPoint slides with speaker notes or recording.
  • Font and font size: use a minimum of 12-point font.
