Dr. David has been taught, "We diagnose kids often based on how much they bother adults". Think about that and the messages from these two experts in the videos. Dr. Allen states "children rise to the expectations of the adults in their environments". Considering this point as well as all of the points in the videos above, in particular Dr. Allen's who calls for adults to be more self-aware, apply Green’s theory of the “Explosive Child” to the assessment and treatment of children suffering from disruptive, impulse control, and conduct disorders. Please comment using the discussion board (at least 2 paragraphs, minimum of 5 sentences each paragraph, no maximum sentences) on what you think about how you have seen adults deal with "problematic" child behaviors. Consider how locations of oppression such as gender, race, culture, class, sexual orientation, physical ability, intellectual ability, family situation (i.e. foster care status) etc. might impact how children are treated. What do you think of the speaker's comments?
