The group I observed is held at 1st Step Behavioral Health in Pompano Beach, Florida.
2. Type of Group: This is a closed psychoeducational group. The group is designed to provide clients with education, support, and insight related to substance use, recovery, mental health, and coping skills within a structured treatment setting.
3. What I Hope to Learn by Observing This Group: By observing this group, I hope to learn how the facilitator engages clients, manages group dynamics, and presents psychoeducational material in a way that is both effective and supportive. I also hope to better understand how clients respond to the group process, how participation is encouraged, and how group interventions can support recovery and emotional growth.
