Immersion Experience
The purpose of this assignment is to provide you with the opportunity to immerse yourself in a situation with which you will experience being in the minority.
Select an activity that relates to a cultural, ethnic, value, or identity issue. You should spend at least 2 hours engaged in your selected activity. You are encouraged to attend an event associated with a group about which you have the MOST preconceived ideas. Activities may include, but are not limited to, attending a religious service, attending a funeral of another religion, attending a meeting for a campus multicultural organization, or participation in any other activity that may be related to a cultural, ethnic, value, or identity issue different from your own
Prepare a 750-1,250-word paper in which you address the following:
- Describe your selected event and where it took place.
- Discuss your expectations of the event prior to attending the event.
- Describe your experience and feelings throughout the event.
- Discuss your expectations of the event after attending the event.
- Reflect on the uniqueness of their personal worldview and recognize how this impacts clinical practice.
Your paper should follow APA formatting.
