Culture, broadly defined to include developmental stage, profession, geographic region, as well as ethnicity, race, gender, and sexual orientation, influences attitudes toward substance use and abuse.
Consider the various cultural influences in your own life.
Prepare an analysis of the ways in which these influences support or inhibit your use – and/or your opinion of the other’s use -- of substances in various contexts. Additionally, briefly cite at least once source of current research related to your analysis. Your sources should be credible, professional publications (such as your textbooks or journal articles that can be accessed via the Alliant electronic journal database, the American Counseling Association practice briefs website -- http://www.counseling.org/knowledge-center/practic... -- or GoogleScholar).
