Psychology Question

Instructions

PURPOSES

Clear learning goals are the backbone of effective instruction. In this assignment, you will define what students in your designed course should know or be able to do by the end of the class. These learning goals should guide every instructional decision you make throughout the semester. Additionally, you will build on this to create an outline of topics that will be covered in your class.

Additional, grading structures are crucial because they provide a clear way to detail the expectations and outcomes of the course. They help measure student progress and growth over time which should align with learning objectives. The latter help inform the types of assignments in a course along with their respective weight.

INSTRUCTIONS

In a Word file, submit the following information about your class:

PART 1

6-8 learning objectives for your class. You can use this as a resource for creating them: https://tips.uark.edu/using-blooms-taxonomy/

A course outline for the class that summarizes the general topics that will be covered and when (you can use the syllabus for this class as an example)

The outline should contain at least 8 time periods (i.e., days, weeks, meetings, etc.)

PART 2

A statement of your grading philosophy (at least 3-5 sentences).

A grading structure that outlines the major assessment areas (you can use the syllabus for this class as an example).

There should be at least 4 grading areas with a weight or system of points assigned to each area.

The overall grade scale for the class. If creating a class that does not follow a typical A, B, C, D, and F grading scale, an appropriate alternate system must be developed to show how students will be assessed overall.
