Contemporary Issues: Research
An essential part of your professional development is to provide effective treatment intervention with clients. One way to ensure this is to seek out research, literature and other resources. For example, if you are working with a client who is struggling with depressive symptoms, you may research effective interventions for depression.
This activity is an opportunity for you to think about your caseload and identify an issue to explore further. Please use a different clinical issue each term.
- Identify a contemporary clinical issue, such as opioids in families, infertility, gender variant/nonconforming youth, and transgender youth and families. Once you identify a topic/clinical issue, please contact the instructor to get approval before proceeding.
- Research the topic, identifying the following: current statistics, current research on the topic, clinical interventions, and related web and Internet sources and resources.
- Organize and prepare your findings.
