Assignment Instructions
Dr. Steven Chew created a video series to highlight important misunderstandings and helpful tips to better studying.
First you will watch an overview video, then choose one main video to review. (You are encouraged but not required to watch the others)
Go to https://www.samford.edu/departments/academic-success-center/how-to-study?fbclid=IwAR1tBXk0NKnnw4J0wDN8ZkMCuXca-Di_9fmaWfzDmr_QSQUdFf5fHDdQw48 and watch the very first video (Developing a Mindset for Successful Learning). Dr. Chew offers some good pointers in this video but also describes his 5 more in-depth videos. While you’re watching, decide based on his descriptions which of the other videos you would like to focus on for this assignment.
Then choose one of Dr. Chew's other 5 main videos and watch it all the way through at least once.
After you have watched the one video you selected you will write about at 1 page paper containing the follow:
- In your own words, summarize the main point of the video.
- Discuss how you have used (or not used) these tips in your own lives.
- Describe how you plan to use these tips in the rest of the semester
- Please use the APA Sample Paper for guidance on the format of what should be submitted which should include your title page, 1 page of content, and a reference page citing the video. See rubric below:

5 points for each part completed thoroughly for a total of 15 points possible 5 points for organization of thoughts (into well-formed and clear paragraphs), meeting page requirement of 1 page, spelling/punctuation/grammar and APA format.
