Application of Developmental Theories
The director of the Head Start program you work for has called you into a meeting. She requests that you provide a 2–3 page theoretical framework to guide the work Head Start does with children and to share with the staff, and create 7–10 PowerPoint slides to accompany the framework. In your assessment, you are to provide a general overview of the major tenets of two selected developmental theorists (for example, Vygotsky, Bronfenbrenner, Bowlby, Erikson, or Piaget) including the major strengths and limitations of each selected theorist. Be sure to note how your selected theorists address relevant background factors such as culture and genetics.
- Written communication: Written communication should be free of errors that detract from the overall message.
- APA formatting: Resources and citations should be formatted according to APA style and formatting.
- Length of paper: 2–3 double-spaced pages, not including title page or references.
- Number of slides: 7–10 PowerPoint slides.
- Font and font size: Times New Roman, 12-point.
- References: A minimum of three peer-reviewed resources are required.
