Capstone-DBX-DL02

Capstone-DBX-DL02

For this assignment, you will finalize your full intervention plan and ensure it is measurable, ethical, and sustainable.

You will:

  1. Finalize measurement integrity (IOA + data accuracy)
  2. Plan for generalization and maintenance
  3. Identify ethical risks and safeguards
  4. Submit a complete draft of your capstone

Step 1: Review all previous work

Before beginning, review:

  • your target behaviors
  • your goals and mastery criteria
  • your intervention procedures
  • your measurement and graphing plan

You will be combining everything into one complete system.

Step 2: Create your IOA (Interobserver Agreement) Plan

Describe how agreement between observers will be measured.

Include:

  • the IOA method (e.g., total count, trial-by-trial, interval-by-interval)
  • how often IOA will be collected
  • who will collect IOA data

Step 3: Define acceptable agreement

State what level of agreement is acceptable.

Example:

  • 80% agreement or higher

Explain why this level is appropriate.

Step 4: Address data accuracy (measurement integrity)

Identify at least two risks to accurate data collection.

Examples:

  • inconsistent definitions
  • missed responses
  • observer bias

For each risk:

  • explain the problem
  • describe how you will prevent it

Step 5: Plan for generalization

Explain how the behavior will transfer beyond the training setting.

Include:

  • where generalization will occur (settings, people, materials)
  • how it will be programmed (not just expected)

Step 6: Plan for maintenance

Explain how the behavior will continue over time.

Include:

  • how reinforcement may change
  • how performance will be monitored
  • how skills will be maintained after mastery

Step 7: Identify ethical risks

Identify at least three risks related to your intervention.

Examples:

  • prompt dependency
  • overuse of reinforcement
  • lack of generalization
  • implementation errors

Step 8: Create safeguards

For each risk:

  • describe how you will prevent or reduce it
  • explain how you will monitor for the issue

Step 9: Combine everything into a full draft

Submit a complete draft of your capstone.

Your draft must include:

  • Case description
  • Target behaviors and operational definitions
  • Goals and mastery criteria
  • Literature synthesis and intervention rationale
  • Measurement and baseline plan
  • Intervention procedures
  • IOA and data integrity plan
  • Generalization and maintenance plan
  • Ethics and safeguards

Step 10: Check for completeness (Gate Requirement)

Before submitting, confirm:

  • All sections are present
  • All sections are connected to your case
  • Procedures are clear and usable
  • Measurement supports decision-making

Important:

This must be a complete draft. Incomplete drafts will not receive full credit.

Step 11: Submit your assignment

You must submit:

  1. Your full capstone draft
  2. All sections listed above in one document
