What do I want you to do?
For your second Milestone Activity, you should compare and contrast the behavioral effects, mechanisms of action, physical dependence and abuse liability, and toxicity of barbiturates, benzodiazepines, opioids, and alcohol. You can structure this in a narrative way in which you consider these factors in written paragraph form, in a tabular format, or some combination of the two. Whichever approach you take, make sure that you refer to information covered in this module and do any additional research necessary to complete your response. Any external resources should be cited in APA format. If you are not familiar with APA citation format, please consult Purdue OWL's APA guidelines, the APA's style guide, resources at the UMPI library, and/or your instructor. Your completed assignment should be saved in a .doc, .docx, .pdf, or other Microsoft Word compatible file format. While length of your submission will vary depending on the approach you take, please limit your response to no more than 4 pages (double-spaced, 12 point font, one-inch margins all around).
By completing this exercise, you'll be revisiting important information about each major drug type in this module. This should improve your overall retention of this information, and that will aid you later in the course.
