What do I want you to do?
You may recall hearing Noam Chomsky talk about the "Genie" case when discussing issues related to critical periods of language acquisition. Do some research on the web and find out more about "Genie." Once you've learned more about her case, write up a brief summary of her early life and what researchers learned about both language and cogntion by working with her over time? Your write-up should be 2-3 pages of your writing (double-spaced, 12 point font, one inch margins all around) and an additional reference page listing resources you drew upon which is formatted in APA style.
Why do I want you to do it?
It is rare that psycholinguists can test theories experimentally, and therefore, "natural experiments" can often be incredibly informative. By researching and synthesizing information about "Genie's" case, you can make connections to material that you just learned and continue to hone your skills in locating and synthesizing information from various sources.
Your assignment submission should include:
