Part 2: How it relates to my Observation ProjectMy observation project entailed an analysis of the effect of different types of soil on the growth of sunflowers. The model is highly useful for monitoring the growth of plants. In this regard, the model can be used to capture and display accurate results of sunflower growth and help display any existing disparity in the rate of the plant's growth in the five soil characteristics, including sand, clay, loam, compost, and a mix of all four soils. Observing the growth of the sunflower in each of the five pots would yield more accurate results, which could be useful in providing detailed information for use in explaining why the results of the growth are similar or different in the set of pots. The model uses infrared ray (IR) technology for object detection while ranging up to some distance to avoid affecting the plant's growth by making direct contact when taking measurements through conventional methods. With this model, non-contact plant monitoring would be ensured. It would detect and record what is happening to both sunflower plants as they grow. When the rays fall on the set-up consisting of all five plant pots, some of it will be absorbed while the rest will be reflected back. If placed at an equidistant distance from the IR source, it becomes possible to record accurate measurements of the plant's growth size as a measure of its growth.Generally, the model can help detect accurate measurements of the growth of the sunflowers in the five pots and establish their specific rates of growth within a specified period of time. This accurate measurement of the sunflower's growth can help provide an accurate overview and explanation of the effect of different types of soil on the growth of sunflowers.ReferencesGupta, S., Mudgil, A., & Soni, A.
